A group of total 52 students with professors from University of Mysore visited Sera Jey Monastery on 5th April, 2024 with Prof. R. Indira and Director (Prof. J. Somashekar) of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Research and Extension Centre. They visited the monastery as a part of their Buddhist Study research as they were all in their final year.

They arrived around 10:30 am at the monastery and were taken straight to Golden Temple for tour and after that were introduced tibetan settlement camps at Bylakuppe. And after having tea break at Tashi Choeling (Sera Jey), there were debate with senior monks who were well trained in buddhist studies and research. The debate went on for almost an hour which proved to be helpful for the students due to interchange of questions regarding buddhism. Students and Teachers had lunch at Tashi Choeling and get chance to visit Sera Jey Library afterwards.
After that, students visited the monastery school where students have witnessed the class rooms followed by visit to Science Center where they had brief explanation about the newly established science center.

Students also visited the main monastery of Sera Jey. Over all, the visit was immensely helpful for the students as it was their first time visiting Sera Jey Monastery and witnessing buddhist studies this much close.
