From the 6th to the 12th May 2026, a group of 14 students and faculties from Simpson College, Iowa, USA spent 7 days at Sera Jey Tashi Choeling for the education purpose.
During their stay, the Modern Education Dept organized classes introducing Buddhist studies, meditation and the Tibetan language. In addition to these sessions, the students visited Sera Jey Debate courtyard, the science center, library, Sera Jey school, nearby monasteries, Karuna Homes. Through these visit, they gain an understanding of the conditions of the Tibetan settlement and the academic programs of the monasteries.
In 2024, a group of students from the same college had visited for an educational tour.
